This hiking route leads into the Kayhausermoor and to the discovery site of a bog body, which is exhibited in the Natural History Museum Oldenburg. Also particularly worth seeing: the Engelsmeer nature reserve.

A good starting point for this hiking route can be found at Scholjegerdes Hof to the left of Kayhauser Kamp. Along the route past green fields and meadows along the railway tracks, you cross them to the right at the end to then walk into nature. Here, the Mühlenweg leads into the nature reserve "Engelsmeer", which can be circled. Along the route, you reach the sign "bog body discovery." Here, in 1922, the body of an eleven- to thirteen-year-old boy was found, who had suffered something terrible more than 2,000 years ago. More information about this gruesome crime can be found at the audio station on site. Approaching the bog, it becomes noticeable that the ground gets softer and softer. Following the sign "Moorpad," you reach the ground station bog. On the left side, there is the opportunity to take a look at a

bog sludge basin. Here, peat is excavated and transported to the Zwischenahner spa clinic, where it is diluted with water and used as a peat bath. From here, the path leads back from nature to the center of Bad Zwischenahn.
